Section 1: Review (Approximately 100 words)
This term has been very efficient for me in terms of improving my skills and professional attributes. The first term involved us doing Antigone. From this term I learnt to come out of my skin and try new things. I also learnt new ways of expressing my emotions, such as anger. In the Chekhov term I learnt how to include different Stanislavsky techniques such as through line and sub-context and much more. I used these skills to help make my character more believable. In the Macbeth term I learnt how to use creative blocking to emphasize my character helping me with characterization.
Section 2: Project Concept (approximately 200 words)
This term we are doing Love and Information by Carol Churchill. It is an abstract play with an episodic structure, meaning none of the scenes link up and they are all different characters. No characters are given and the way the lines are, are meant to represent the speech patterns of real life. I really like the idea of doing this play and I am really looking forward to it because it is can be left to interpretation and I enjoy coming up with my own creative ideas. Because there are a lot of scenes of about 1-3 people, it means that I will get to work with different people, allowing me boundaries of teamwork to be tested. Overall this will be a challenge for my creative side in order to come up with original and unique ideas and I am really looking forward to working with a variety of people. Also this play challenges the idea of characterization and backstory, which I’m looking forward to being as creative as possible. I find it’ll be easier to make the scenes realistic because of the broken and continuous abrupt interruptions that make it seem like natural conversations in real life. Also she not giving characters allows us to choose how many people are in a scene.
Section 3: Evaluation (approximately 50 words)
This term I am going to evaluate by evaluating my entire group as one then evaluating me individually. I am going to evaluate my acting as well as my creative choices which I am hoping to help my whole group. I will evaluate through justifying my choices as well, and I will have one target at the end.
